Since 2003, International Alliance for the Advancement of Children (IAAC) has been a beacon of light providing nutrition and access to education for poor children in Les Cayes, Haiti.
Today the focus of IAAC continues to be saving the lives of children through proper nutrition. In 2007, with the generosity of Dental Care for Children, our services were expanded to include dental care for children and adults throughout the region of Les Cayes.
This year, in spite of major loss of funding, we have launched a new initiative to provide vocational training for girls so they can become financially self-sufficient and break the cycle of poverty in their community. The economic downturn has severely impacted our ability to continue to provide these vital services for the children that we serve.
One of my key priorities this year is to implement an English literacy, and technical skills program that will prepare Haitian youth for technological employment opportunities in the near future. This program will also connect Haitian youth to the world community.
We invite you to join us to help transform the lives of young people in Haiti. We are grateful to individuals who have supported us over the past six years. Their support has come in many forms: time, expertise, guidance, advocacy, financial and emotional support.
Sincerely,
Ghislaine Georges Founder & Executive Director International Alliance for the Advancement of Children
